After teaching Year 3 in a beautiful village called Ramsbury in Wiltshire for two and a half years, I decided that it was time for an adventure! The temptation of hotter climates and an insatiable zest for travelling played a huge part in this very difficult decision.
So first on the agenda for teaching is Cambodia, a country that shares a fascinating and dark history; both in equal measure. After a month of teaching in a rural village in the south of Cambodia, I will be ready for some travelling around Vietnam and Laos, incorporating jungle treks, visiting stunning coastlines and indulging in some delicious food. Once we've experienced the lure and beauty of Northern Thailand after Laos, we'll then make our way down to Phuket where I will once again, do what I love doing best...teaching! The adventure doesn't end there! We'll then relax on the beaches of Malaysia and possibly Indonesia before we head to Australia and New Zealand where I may attempt to get a teaching position depending on how easy or indeed difficult the process is.
So back-pack tightly clipped on and with all my farewells completed, I set off to South East Asia with my wife and because we could only fly to Bangkok directly, we thought it would be stupid not to see the sights the Thai capital had to offer. And surely it would have been silly not to take a bus down to the beautiful island of Koh Chang where lazing on white, sandy beaches and enjoying live music and a few beers by night are absolutely compulsory.

Next stop...teaching the lovely children of Cambodia!
Very much looking forward to the next instalment.
